How do I request an aircraft charter?

To request an aircraft charter, submit a quick charter quote form to the Alliance team and they will get back to you as soon as possible.

 

Can I purchase a ticket?

Tickets can be purchased on our Regular Public Transport (RPT) services by filling out the above Book A Flight Bar.

For flights operated as a codeshare with Virgin Australia (i.e. between Brisbane and Bundaberg, Gladstone, Moranbah and Port Macquarie) flights can be booked via the Virgin Australia website (www.virginaustralia.com).

If you require group travel to a certain destination, submit a quick charter quote form to the Alliance team and they will get back to you as soon as possible.

 

Can I reserve a seat?

Seat selection is made available from 17:00 on the day prior to departure for eligible Alliance Airlines flights. Seat selection is only available with flights that have online and mobile check in capabilities. If you do not have access to these services, contact Alliance personnel at the appropriate airport check in desk.

For flights operated as a codeshare with Virgin Australia (i.e. between Brisbane and Bundaberg, Gladstone, Moranbah and Port Macquarie) seat selection can be made via the Virgin Australia website and mobile check-in functions.

 

Can I confirm which flight I am on?

For security purposes, Alliance Airlines is unable to confirm your flight details over the phone. You will need to contact your employer, contracting company or organisation chartering the aircraft to find out which flight you are booked on. If you are present in the airport terminal with photo identification, Alliance airport staff will be able to confirm your flight details.

 

I’m running late!

If you are running late, contact your employer, contracting company or organisation chartering the aircraft as soon as possible. It is their responsibility to notify Alliance Airlines personnel.

 

What time does check in close?

For all Alliance Airlines flights check in closes strictly 30 minutes prior to the flight departure time. If you miss your flight, you will need to contact your employer, contracting company or organisation chartering the aircraft to have your flight rescheduled.

 

What do I need for check in?

For all Alliance Airlines flights check in closes strictly 30 minutes prior to the flight departure time.

Ensure you produce photo identification, such as a driver’s licence, an employee identification card or a valid passport at check in. Infants aged 0 – 2 years of age do not require photographic identification. Children 3 years and older must produce identification such as a birth certificate, passport, student identification or Medicare card. Passengers who cannot provide sufficient identification may be denied boarding.

 

How and where can I check in?

Airport Check In

You can check in for all Alliance Airlines flights up to 30 minutes prior to departure. Visit our Flight Arrival & Departures page for more information.


Mobile Check In

Mobile check in is available from 17:00 on the day prior to departure for eligible Alliance Airlines flights.


Online Check In

Online check in is available via the Manage Your Booking on selected Alliance Airlines flights. You may be able to select your seats from 17:00 on the day prior to departure.

 

Is my flight delayed or cancelled?

Can I use my mobile phone as a boarding pass?

Passengers may use mobile phone boarding passes on selected Alliance Airlines flights when:

  • The phone is switched to flight mode prior to existing the boarding gate
  • Phone is not used whilst on the tarmac
  • Phone must be presented to the flight attendant at the door
  • Local procedures for boarding calls and processes are updated to reflect above.
 

When can I use my personal electronic devices during flight?

Passengers may operate handheld personal electronic devices such as eBooks, iPads and mobile phones during all phases of flight when the device is selected to flight mode.

How much baggage can I take?

Cabin Baggage 
Each passenger is entitled to carry on board one piece of cabin baggage not exceeding 23 cm width x 34 cm height x 48 cm length; and not exceeding a total weight of 5kg (Fokker 50) and 7kg (Fokker 70/100). 

Please be advised that each aircraft is different and is restricted to carry certain weights on some routes. Alliance Airlines personnel reserve the right to direct baggage to be stowed in the aircraft hold. 

Checked Baggage – RPT Schedule Services 
Each passenger occupying a paid seat travelling on Alliance Airlines domestic or international services is entitled to the following free baggage allowance, unless otherwise stated: 

  • Fokker 100 Economy class 20kg 
  • Fokker 70 Economy class 20kg 
  • Fokker 50 Economy class 20kg 

In addition to the above requirements, any item of baggage must not exceed the total linear dimensions (width plus height plus length) of 158cm. Please be advised that some ports impose reduced weight limits based upon local OHS policies. Any item of baggage exceeding the size or weight limit will not be accepted at passenger check in.

Charges may apply for any weight in excess of the Alliance Airlines free baggage allowances. The rates are $15 per kilogram and are subject to space availability.

Is Alliance a no smoking airline?

Smoking is strictly prohibited within the terminal and tarmac area of all Alliance Airlines flights at all ports. It is an offence under the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations to smoke on board an aircraft. Questions about Virgin Australia Codeshare & Flights to/from Bundaberg, Gladstone and Port Macquarie

 

What aircraft is used on these services?

All services will be on jet aircraft – an 80 seat Fokker 70.

 

When did Alliance take over these routes?

Alliance Airlines services between Brisbane and Bundaberg, Gladstone and Port Macquarie commenced on 17 July 2017.

 

Will cabin and checked baggage requirements be the same as Virgin Australia?

Yes, Virgin Australia’s carry-on and checked baggage allowances apply to these flights.

 

Will I still earn Velocity Points and Status Credits?

Yes, on all Virgin Australia marketed flights, guests can earn Velocity Points and Status Credits, and enjoy the benefits of their Velocity membership.

 

Will Velocity Platinum and Gold members have access to Virgin Australia lounges?

Yes, Velocity Platinum and Gold members will have access to Premium Entry and the Virgin Australia lounge at Brisbane Airport.
